The croftland natural healing represents a special phenomenon of the region, which has always been very interesting for tourists. Traditional folk songs and beautiful embroideries of the village are also worth noticing.

The name Žítková comes from the word "žítek" (life), which even the invasions of the Tatar and Kurucz hordes in the 16th and the 17th centuries failed to eradicate.
Rye and wild orchids have always grown profusely on the sun-lit slopes of the local hills. Žítková boasts a fine collection of authentic cottages and a natural swimming pool.
The village is also the centre of several cultural and nature walks, all clearly posted with sings, of various lengths and difficulty.
